The water tank at Bright Future School that was funded by the students of Stoke Park

We only have 2 months before the staff and students of Stoke Park wend their merry way to Uganda to visit and work in Bright Future School for 10 days. The team is frantically raising funds for their venture through bag-packing and the organisation of a race night on the 23rd May. The school will soon organise a reading book donation scheme and the group will transport these books to Uganda to set up a library. While we are in Uganda we will be setting up a reading mentoring scheme to help the younger students to read, teaching in classrooms and coaching the staff and student sports leaders in running playground games with the younger students. The money the students at Stoke Park have raised this year will go towards the equipment for these games.

A huge thank you to the ICT Network team who have kindly donated 5 laptops to Bright Future School and a hard drive containing curriculum videos. We are going to purchase a couple of digital camcorders for Bright Future School so they can post their own video blogs on the Stoke Park website.
